The leather outsole is always made of vegetable tanned cow leather at Ludwig Reiter. To prevent the leather soles from drying out and becoming brittle and to keep them weather resistance and flexible they should be treated with leather grease or dubbing once in Summer and twice in Winter.
The same treatment should be applied to the welt of the shoe and its seam.
